Before we cast our sights on what 2025 has in store, let’s look at this first official year of Office Dog Games! Though the studio was established in 2022, our travels began with the wordy wayfinding game, Word Traveler, by Thomas Dagenais-Lespérance in April 2024. In the cooperative game, players choose one of four city maps to explore together, taking turns requesting directions from the rest of the group using a limited set of word cards and cardinal directions. You’ll have more opportunities to play with our team in 2025 at Tantrum Con and BGG Con Spring!
Hitting Gold in Year 1
We were excited to attend Gen Con 2024 to debut our second title, River of Gold by Keith Piggott. We have been overwhelmed by the love the community has shown for River of Gold, including a Seal of Excellence from The Dice Tower, and making an appearance on multiple “Top 10 Games of 2024” lists, such as on Grant’s Game Recs, Tantrum House, Foster the Meeple, and Dani Standring. We cannot thank the community enough for taking the time to play on Board Game Arena, at Gen Con, and in your local scenes. The upcoming reprint in March 2025 will feature The Dice Tower Seal of Excellence!
The Road Goes Ever On
While it’s technically a 2025 release, The Fellowship of the Ring: Trick-Taking Game™ is already bringing the team a great deal of joy as we see reviews popping up, comments from those who demoed at PAX Unplugged, and players who picked up a prerelease copy from their local game stores in early December. Designed by our very own Bryan Bornmueller, bringing his favorite fandom and genre of games together, The Fellowship of the Ring: Trick-Taking Game is releasing in January 2025 worldwide as the first installation in a series adapting the iconic The Lord of the Rings franchise to a cooperative narrative card game.
Get out of this World!
This spring, players will have the opportunity to escape the Earth and create their own universe in Crafting the Cosmos. With the help of actual physicists and astronomers, Crafting the Cosmos draws on real scientific theories to harness gravity, spawn life, and manipulate time, as you compete with other players for the most exquisitely crafted galaxy. Designed by the same folks that brought you Monkey Palace and Floristry, David Gordon and TAM’s love for game design and unique experiences flows freely through the stretches of the cosmos.
More Adventure is on the Way!
We can’t share too much just yet but stay tuned for a Spring announcement of an upcoming narrative dice adventure. In the game, players will immerse themselves in the literal chapters of an adventure book as they draft dice and collect resources that will help them achieve victory before anyone else. Backed by another iconic franchise, and a master of game design, you won’t want to miss this fall release!
